Betsy Byars is the author of many acclaimed and well-loved books for children, including the Newbery Award-winning The Summer of the Swans. Ms. Byars lives in Clemson, South Carolina. Betsy Duffey has written over 15 books for children,. most for middle-grade readers. She lives in Augusta, Georgia.

Laurie Myers's books include three middle-grade novels. She is presently working on a children’s book about Meriwether Lewis’s dog, who accompanied Lewis and Clark on their explorations. She lives in Atlanta, Georgia.
