What can I say? I grew up on baseball… I loved it when I was 8 years old and it has never left me. Madonna’s fictional Post-War American town of Happville appealed to me from the beginning. And it helped that youth baseball was a backdrop for the plot of the story.
This is an opening spread in the book. The image contains no characters from the story and says nothing about the plot. It was intended to simply deliver a mood like an opening scene in a movie.
